www.barkandwhiskers.com/2023-11-15-living-with-another-pet-affects-dogs-healthStory at-a-glance Dogs may benefit from living with other canine, or even feline, companions Data from 21,410 dogs found living with other dogs was associated with better health and fewer diseases compared to dogs without furry friends in the household Dogs living in homes with wealthier owners had better health, along with more diagnosed diseases, possibly due to increased veterinary care The benefits of social ties outweighed the effects of finances five-fold Be sure to consider practical matters, like space and finances, as well as your dog's personality and age when choosing whether or not to add another pup to your home My notes: Our one cat is a "mouser" aka she'll attack bugs, leaves, grasshoppers lol Our dog knows if she is looking at something, it HAS to be good I feel pets can get lonely & need companionship. I'm home all day but I feel it's especially vital when the humans leave to go to work or school.

Oh yeah, they can co-exist happily. They can learn when they are young. Even if they aren't buddies.

I've seen pets get along like they were born together, while others going against each other like mortal enemies. Just never know how it will go.

We always had multiple types of animals living in the household. Funnily enough, it was the dogs who would fight and they got along with the other types, whether it was birds, guinea pigs or cats.

I wish my animals had gotten along. I used to have four other cats and they would antagonize one another like children. The only cat that got along well with our dog was the youngest one. They used to wrestle all the time. But my mom's dog does well with ours and the cat we have. The four cats I had are now since passed, as three of them were elderly and the youngest we have no idea what happened to him. He was born on our patio with two others. We think he was too inbred because we had a lot of outside cats at the time and they all bred with one another. I dunno. At least the animals we have now get along.

Oh yeah, they can co-exist happily. They can learn when they are young. Even if they aren't buddies. I think getting them as babies helps form the bond. I've seen pets get along like they were born together, while others going against each other like mortal enemies. Just never know how it will go. Have you ever seen pets who were introduced to each other as babies but still became mortal enemies? We always had multiple types of animals living in the household. Funnily enough, it was the dogs who would fight and they got along with the other types, whether it was birds, guinea pigs or cats. We've only had 1 dog at a time but several cats. I wish my animals had gotten along. I used to have four other cats and they would antagonize one another like children. The only cat that got along well with our dog was the youngest one. They used to wrestle all the time. But my mom's dog does well with ours and the cat we have. We think he was too inbred because we had a lot of outside cats at the time and they all bred with one another. I dunno. At least the animals we have now get along. Our one cat is a "mouser". She'll attack anything. Bugs, rocks, sticks, leaves lol For being elderly now, she hasn't lost her kittenish ways. Our dog knows that our cat knows where the "goods" are. So when they are all outside (mainly warmer months) & our cat goes to something, our dog gets up & follows her. They then both look, smell whatever "it" is lol I call them Partners in crime
